Rug brochures tell about the Bunyaad Rug Program’s hand-knotted, heirloom quality, fairly traded rugs and how the program is empowering the rug artisans of Pakistan while keeping the artisans in the art form. It includes an artisan profile, how to search for rugs online, a brief description of the rugs we carry and an insert of the current year’s Rug Events in the US and Canada with contact information. Place a sticker with your event information on the brochure’s front cover.
As bagstuffers, handouts, displayed for the taking in public buildings like libraries, hotels, restaurants, realty offices etc., church mailboxes or tables for outreach opportunities, for taking to offsite events as conversation starters. Be creative!

An easy and most cost effective way to share about your rug event in your store and any off-site or community event you attend. Couple this with your series of e-blasts and the message will be reinforced with the right links to get your customers excited and in the door.
Have a stack at your registers, hand them out to stores in your neighborhood. Take them along to off-site events or community gatherings. Print as many as you need, then print some more.
Start handing them out as soon as your dates are set.
Bagstuffers will be prepped for each store and send out as soon as information about your event is confirmed.
Postcards include your Rug Event and Customer Seminar’s details. Stores can customize their postcards with the Ten Thousand Villages logo or their store’s individual logo.
Mailed or bulkmailed to your store’s entire mailing list; handouts or bagstuffers in your store and stores within a 150 mile radius; church mailboxes or placed in community public buildings or offsite events for the taking.
Postcards mailed to entire mailing list should be in customers’ hands one month before an event. Postcards as bagstuffers and handouts should be used during busiest times of year (Holidays) and then three months before your event.
Ten Thousand Villages stores or any stores that agree to promote your event should also have postcards as bagstuffers at the above mentioned times.
BEST PRACTICE is to place one large order of postcards that you will need for handing out, bagstuffing and bulk mailing. Do this prior to the Holidays to pass out during busiest times and reserve some for bulkmailing and handouts to be done nearer to your event. Order by September 30.
OTHER OPTION: Order postcards from the rug room 4 month out just for bulkmailing or handing out prior to your event. We will design and print them and you may choose whether to have our printer bulk mail them or use your own bulk mailer or hand them out in your store etc.
The designing, paper and printing of the postcard will be free up to 10,000 copies. Postcards beyond 10,000 will cost 7 cent each for printing. We will only do one free print run per store. Your store will be responsible for bulk mailing charges,postage and/or UPS charges for mailing to your store.
These cards are designed to be used for any purpose surrounding rug events. Photos of artisans and rugs are on the front and back of the card while the inside is blank for your handwritten message. Cards may be handwritten or run through a laser printer. The size is roughly 6 3/4″ width x 4 3/4″ height.

These signs announce your rug event to the community and beyond, and drive customers to your event! When Ithaca customers were asked how they heard about the rug event they said “How couldn’t I know it’s going on. Signs are EVERYWHERE.” The Ithaca store recently increased their number of yard signs to 50. Goshen was pleased when a customer who attended their event after noticing a sign, purchased $27,000 in rugs.
Place on properties of board, staff, volunteers and friends of your store who can check on the signs and remove them immediately after your event. It’s good to place them at high trafficked areas if you have gotten permission first. Don’t place the majority of your signs at the location of your event. They are meant to drive customers to your event.
